LEGEND OF THE WOOD SPIRITS

The forest is a peaceful place when the wind is still. As the wind blows, trees moan and sigh as if the woods have a life and spirit of it's own.

Long ago people believed the forests to be filled with mystical Wood Spirits and that those who dared to enter would earn the Spirit's wrath. Wise travelers assured their safety by carving a Wood Spirit image on their walking staffs to appease the Spirits and protect them on their long journeys. Those beliefs have survived through the ages in one form or another. Knock on wood anyone?

Artisans have been carving Wood Spirits by hand for hundreds of years, handing down the tradition from one generation to the next.  Although the Spirits have long been quieted, the charming tradition of the carved Wood Spirit Walking Stick lives on.

We've captured the essence of the Wood Spirit in our exquisitely hand crafted Walking Sticks and hope they will provide you safe passage in your travels.

We have several models of Wood Spirit Sticks ranging from rustic sticks carved from natural Minnesota Diamond Willow & New Hampshire hardwoods, to highly finished Walking Sticks made of commercially available hardwoods.  A variety of custom options are available to make your Walking Stick unique.
